International device manufacturer guidance (Apple):
Apple will not service an iPhone or an iPad if the SIM card being used is not manufactured to the correct size appropriate for the device. Should any problem occur with an iPhone that is using a SIM module that has been manually cut-down (adjusted in size) the subscriber will be instructed to get a valid SIM from the cell carrier and the warranty will be void as manual resizing of the SIM module can cause damage to the device.
“If you modify, cut, or trim your SIM card to fit in a different device model, you might not be able to connect to a cellular network or access certain features using that device. Also, a modified SIM card might not insert, eject, or sit in the SIM tray correctly. Damage to the tray or device caused by a modified SIM card isn’t covered by Apple’s hardware warranty.
If you get a new iPhone and your old SIM card won’t fit, contact your carrier to move your account to the SIM card that came with your iPhone, or ask how to get a new SIM card if your iPhone didn’t come with one”.

Workz SIM Card Warranty Statement (exclusionary):
Due to the inability of Workz or handset suppliers to manage cards modified in the field, Workz warranty does not apply to:
a) Damage caused by accident, abuse or misuse
b) Damage caused by operating Workz products outside Workz published operational guidelines
c) Workz products that have been modified to alter functionality or capability without the written permission of Workz
d) SIM cards cut into a different form factor (outside of Workz manufacturing process) are not covered by Workz Warranty and will not be replaced or compensated. Workz shall not be held responsible for any physical or functional damage caused by third-party adjustments to the SIM card after the manufacturing process.

BAP card is a fully operational and personalized card produced with the exact electrical profile with or without artwork (white BAP or full BAP with artwork).
BAP approval (electrical profile, personalization and variable data format)
BAP approval is a document signed by customer confirming that the product sample (BAP card) has been examined, tested and approved for mass production.
BAP testing is a joint responsibility of supplier and customer and includes the following:
Testing by supplier:
Prior to submission of BAP card to customer, supplier shall test the BAP card and verify all elements against the specifications and approved personalization details.
Supplier shall test BAP cards using common handsets, however, it will not guarantee that all handsets present in a particular market will be covered.
Testing by customer:
It is the customer’s responsibility to test BAP cards on all handsets sold in their particular market and provide written feedback to supplier in a form of approval or rejection. In addition, the following tests are the customers responsibility:
- Testing of physical SIM characteristics (as per the ISO standards (ISO/IEC 7816-1 (1998) – “Physical Characteristics”, ISO/IEC 7816-2 (1999) – “Dimensions and location of the contacts”)
- Network related configuration
- SIM card security configuration
- Electrical profile configuration
- Handsets compatibility
- Variable data for graphical personalization
If BAP card is rejected due to any errors found during testing, supplier will rectify the issues and provide the second set of BAP cards free of charge.
Supplier shall not take any responsibility or accept any compensation claims for errors identified and highlighted after BAP approval. If mass production has not yet commenced such errors can be fixed and a new set of BAP cards provided. If mass production has started, supplier and customer shall mutually agree when and how the issues need to be rectified; all additional costs for such rectification shall be covered by the customer.
BAP testing cannot be waived.
A second set of BAP cards can be waived in a case of minor changes on the graphical profile that can be re-proofed via digital proof (position of graphical elements, additional personalization, etc.).
BAP approval form:
Customer shall provide signed BAP approval form supplied along with the physical card sample. No e-mail or verbal approvals will be accepted. Production will commence upon receipt of signed approval form.

BAT card is a non-operational card produced using the materials, inks and finish that will be used in the mass production of the product. Although BAT card cannot be technically tested with a device, both marketing and technical verification is required for printing and personalization details.
BAT approval (graphical profile and physical dimensions)
BAT approval is a document signed by customer confirming that the product sample (BAT card) has been examined and approved for mass production.
BAT testing can be combined with BAP testing if the BAP card is produced as per the complete graphical and electrical card profile. Both BAT and BAP card approvals play an essential role in the SIM manufacturing process and represent two important elements of T-zero (Time zero is the time when all components are verified and ready for mass production, i.e. purchase order, input data, BAT approval, BAP approval, packing and label requirements).
SIM vendor’s responsibility: It is the SIM vendor’s responsibility to provide a BAT card that is produced as per the ISO standards (ISO/IEC 7816-1 (1998) – “Physical Characteristics”, ISO/IEC 7816-2 (1999) – “Dimensions and location of the contacts”) and follows agreed customer specifications and confirmed artwork (graphical profile) prior to releasing commercial order for mass production.
During mass production the SIM vendor is responsible for following the exact specifications, personalization and overall quality as per the approved BAT card. Due to the nature of the printing process there may be some minor variations in visual appearance within industry tolerances which will not jeopardize the overall integrity of branding or functionality.
Customer’s responsibility: The customer shall notify the vendor of any required changes during digital proofing stage prior to BAT production. It is customer’s responsibility to examine a BAT card against specifications and artwork and provide written feedback to the vendor in the form of approval or rejection.
Comparisons to other manufacturer samples are not valid if only introduced after production of BAT and not highlighted at the artwork digital proof stage.
The following characteristics must be checked during BAT approval process. It may not be a comprehensive list of items to review so every element must be checked carefully.

BAT testing is not required for repeat production runs (no changes in the graphical profile).

As the module plug-ins are repluggable, meaning they can be taken out of the card and then put back together, users can quickly and easily switch between the three formats as they wish. Here is a quick guide to remove the SIM plug:
- To remove 2FF SIM plug
a) Break one connection bridge
b) Break other connection bridge
Note: When breaking the connection bridge hold both 3FF and 4FF plug in order to prevent them breaking up.
c) To push out the 2FF plug, place your thumb on the front (chip facing) side of the 3FF and 4FF plugs close to the thickest connection bridge. Push out from the back (non-chip facing) side.
Note: It is recommended not to try to break out the 2FF plug in one step but rather follow the steps above.
- To remove 3FF SIM plug
a) Use your forefinger to push out 3FF plug from back (non-chip facing) side
b) At the same time use thumb to hold the 2FF plug from the front (chip facing) side
- To remove 4FF SIM plug
a) Use your forefinger to push out 4FF plug from back (non-chip facing) side
b) At the same time use your thumb to hold the 2FF & 3FF plug from the front (chip facing) side
- To return back the SIM plug
a) Place the 3FF/4FF plug back into position from the front (chip facing) side
