Pawan Kumar, Planning Team Leader at Workz, gets up close and personal with PrintWeek.

How did you get into printing?

I’m involved in the planning aspect of printing and it all started here at Workz.

What do you like most about your job?

There’s a tremendous scope for learning and my role offers new challenges each day.

What is the worst thing about your job?

There isn’t any, that’s why I love my work.

What was the best deal you pulled off?

As a planner, I don’t get involved in deals but I’ve been part of some major factory milestones such as producing 7 million scratch cards in a single day.

Whom do you admire in print?

It has to be Malcolm Keightley our factory manager as I have learnt a lot from him.

What makes you laugh?

A good TV sitcom after a day’s work cracks me up.

What do you like about living in this region?

I don’t feel homesick as Dubai is a great place to live.

What is your favorite phrase or saying?

Pick your battles, not all can be won.

What is your favourite film?

The Shawshank Redemption is a must watch.

If you could change anything in the world, what would it be?

People and their thought process.

Which superpower would you like to have?

As they say, with great power comes great responsibility. I’m not sure I could handle that pressure.

If you could invite anyone to a party, who would they be?

The Crazy Ones will definitely make it to the party.

Where would you go if you could time-travel?

I live in the present. I don’t want to see the future, I want it to be a surprise. I don’t want to see the past, I’ve lived it.

What is your greatest fear?

I fear I may not be able to do all the things I would like before I grow old.

How would you like to be remembered?

How I lived. Death is inevitable, life isn’t.

Life is…?

Life is short, live each day as if it was your last.
