Recently, the Red Sea has experienced heightened geopolitical tensions and increased security concerns, leading to a notable impact on maritime operations. These developments have prompted shipping companies to increase security measures and/or seek alternative routes, leading to increased operational costs, which may impact our lead times, availability, and price.
We are actively monitoring the situation and working with our partners to minimise the impact on the supply chain. We will endeavour to keep you abreast of any major developments with regard to your shipments.

The ongoing tensions in the Red Sea region have impacted the following areas:

  • The cost of shipping fuel has increased, creating delays on global trade
  • Vessels have had to reroute around the Cape of Good Hope, adding two to four weeks to a round-trip voyage, increasing transit time
  • The largest shipping companies MSC, Maersk, CMA CGM and Hapag-Lloyd, and Asia-based Cosco Shipping, HMM and Evergreen Line, as well as oil and gas tanker operators have suspended Red Sea routes due to heightened security concerns
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during these uncertain times. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your account manager.
